Losing weight, eating less, drinking less, or worrying less: the list for every start of the year. But these are all good resolutions that you often try to stick to alone. But isn't it more fun to stick to good resolutions together? Stimulation and motivation are very important, and how fun is it to take on a fun challenge together with your child. That's why we're giving you a fresh dose of inspiration to start your year off right with your child!

Eat healthy together!
It's no secret that a healthy diet has benefits for everyone. It is especially important for children that they get the right nutrients, they still have to grow!
Not only is healthy food important, but also eating together. We have already explained the importance of eating together in a couple of blogs back. Curious? Read this blog post here.
- Give compliments
A nice compliment is never wrong, right? It's even more fun to share it with your child. In addition, you teach your child a positive and friendly mindset. They also learn to look at their fellow human beings differently by giving different compliments every time. For children, of course, it is not always easy to come up with compliments themselves, so you can give them a list of examples. And no, that doesn't make the compliment less sincere!
- Talk to your child
Yes, guilty! We often tend to talk to our children instead of talking with them. Let your child ask you a question! What would they like from their parents? Engage in a dialogue with your child. Maybe you'll find out even faster how much you are alike!
- Tidy up together
Tidying up is often not the most fun activity for us, and certainly not for your child. Yet it is important that they learn it from a young age. Try to make it a fun moment by tidying up together. This makes the association with this activity positive, and children are more likely to do it on their own.
- Less screen time
We can't avoid it anymore: screens! For children, it is now a habit to get lessons on a tablet or computer. More and more games are becoming digital, which makes children ask at an increasingly younger age: "Can I have the tablet?"
Agree with yourself (possibly partner) and your child how often screen time is desired per week. This way your child also knows when he/she may or may not ask for it!
- More outdoors
It is enormously healthy to be in the fresh air, but unfortunately many children sit indoors. Especially in these difficult times, where schools are closing down all the time and children are forced to sit indoors, it is important that they get out a little more.
Therefore, as a parent, take those extra 10 minutes to go to the playground, or take a walk around the nearest lake. Healthy for yourself, but also for your child!
