Traveling by Train with a Baby
Where to get in, how to handle stairs, and when to feed your baby.
Traveling by train with a baby is often easier than traveling by car, as long as you keep in mind the times when you'll need both hands.
Choose your boarding location in advance
Spacious entryways are usually found near the balconies and in the cars with bike storage. There’s enough room there for a stroller without having to fold it up, and you won’t be blocking the aisle.
Math on Stairs
Not every station has a working elevator. A stroller that you can fold up with one hand and carry is the biggest help in situations like that. See also strollers that fold up quickly.
Plan your meals around boarding
Feeding works just fine on the train, but getting on and off doesn't. Try to space those moments out, and the rest of the trip will be peaceful.
