The best Christmas movies for young and old

It is practically impossible to get through the month of December without the required amount of Christmas films. To get through the dark month of December, we have listed the best Christmas films. The films are aimed at young, old, couples and the whole family. Almost all films can be viewed via Netflix.

If there's a movie that screams vacation, it's definitely Home Alone. The movie is thirty years old this week, and it's still widely watched during the holidays. This American film tells the story of a large family going on vacation to France, but they accidentally forget one of the children at home. Eight-year-old Kevin has an unforgettable time now that he's finally home alone. Unfortunately, relaxing at home isn't an option when he has his hands full chasing away two burglars.

Another true Christmas classic that everyone should see at least once is "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" from 2000. The film is almost twenty-two years old, but it remains a true classic. With Jim Carrey as The Grinch, he tries to ruin Christmas for the village of WhoVille. The film is highly recommended for the whole family.

We have also selected a nice movie for couples, namely; The holiday. This Hollywood film is from 2006 and stars famous movie stars such as Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet and Jack Zwart. The film tells the story of two women who change their lives via a website by participating in a house swap. The two women eventually begin to realize how happy they should be with what they have, and of course they both find someone they fall in love with. A nice movie for the couples among our readers!

Many films have been released from the book "A Christmas Carol", published in 1843, including the 2009 3D animated film. A Christmas Carol is about a bitter old man, Ebenezer Scrooge, who hates Christmas. His life revolves around money and nothing else. However, his outlook on life changes when three ghosts visit him on Christmas Eve. The three ghosts convey an important message to the grumpy old man. The first spirit shows him his most painful events from the past, the second spirit teaches him to reflect on his statements, and the last spirit shows him what people think of him when he is no longer there. This terrifying night leads the man to change his life and become the gentle man he once was.
