Which high chair is right for your kitchen?
First, consider your space and how you eat; only then should you think about the execution.
When choosing a high chair, the most important factors are your available space and how your family eats. Only then should you consider the design.
The Adjustable-Height Chair
A wooden chair with an adjustable seat and footrest grows with your child from infancy through school age and sometimes into adulthood. That makes it the most durable choice, but it does have to stay at the table permanently. It’s ideal if you have a fixed dining area and don’t need to move the chair around.
The folding chair
For a small kitchen or a family that moves around a lot. You fold it up after dinner and put it away. The trade-off is comfort: a foldable chair is generally less sturdy than a fixed chair.
The Table-Hanging Chair
Clamps onto the tabletop and takes up no floor space. Handy when space is limited and for taking along to family gatherings or on vacation. Be sure to check the thickness of the tabletop that this model can support, and never use it on a glass or loose tabletop.
Take a look at the serving platter
A removable tray that fits in the dishwasher saves you work every day. Without the tray, you seat your child at the regular table, which is more socially pleasant but results in more mess on your own table.
Safety and Use
Always use the safety harness, even when your child is sitting still, and don't place the chair close to a wall or the edge of a table where your child could push off. A cushion makes sitting for longer periods more comfortable during the initial phase.
For the stage before that: which bouncer is right for you.
