Losing weight, eating and drinking less, or stressing less: the go-to list for every start of the year. However, these are all good intentions that you often try to stick to on your own. But isn't it more fun to stick to good intentions together? After all, encouragement and motivation are very important, and how fun is it to take on a fun challenge together with your child. That's why we give you a fresh dose of inspiration to start your year well with your child!

Eat healthy together!
It's no secret that a healthy diet has benefits for every human being. It is especially important for children that they get the right nutrients, after all, they still have to grow!
Not only is eating healthy important, but also eating together. A few blogs ago we already explained the importance of eating together. Curious? Read this blog post here.
- Give compliments
A nice compliment is never wrong, right? It's even more fun to share this with your child. You also teach your child a positive and friendly mindset. They also learn to look at their fellow human beings differently by complimenting something different each time. Of course, it is not always easy for children to come up with compliments themselves, so you can give them a list of examples. And no, that doesn't make the compliment any less sincere!
- Talk to your child
Yeah, guilty! We often tend to talk *at* our children instead of *with* them. Let your child ask you a question! What would they like from their parents? Have a conversation with your child. You might find out even faster how much you are alike!
- Tidy up together
Tidying up isn't usually the most fun activity for us, let alone for your little one. Yet, it's important for them to learn this from a young age. Try to make it a fun moment by tidying up together. This creates a positive association with the activity, and children are more likely to do it on their own.
- Less screen time
We can't escape it anymore: screens! For children, it's now common to have lessons on a tablet or computer. More and more games are becoming digital, so children are asking at an increasingly young age: "Can I have the tablet?"
Agree with yourself (and your partner) and your child how much screen time per week is desired. This way, your child also knows when he/she is allowed to ask for it!
- More outdoors
Being outdoors is super healthy, but sadly, many kids are stuck inside. Especially during these annoying times, with schools closing all the time and kids being forced to stay indoors, it's important for them to get some extra time outside.
As a parent, take that extra 10 minutes to go to the playground with them, or take a walk around the nearest lake. It's good for you, and for your child!
