Your little one's first steps are one of the most precious, but also earliest milestones in your child's life. This moment marks a new phase and foreshadows many wonderful, as well as exciting events to come. For some parents, this realization can be accompanied by many emotions and worries. The familiar living room, the regular play corner for your baby, may suddenly fall short in holding attention or ensuring safety.
With newly learned skills, your loved one can start exploring horizons, and before you know it, your little one won't be where you last saw him or her. Of course, babies and toddlers won't get very far, but that doesn't take away the stress you're bound to experience at certain times. In this blog, we'll give you some tools for this special phase.
Give compliments
Learning to walk goes with ups and downs, literally and figuratively. For you as a parent, this takes some getting used to, but of course the same goes for your baby. Therefore, stay calm in front of your baby and make sure you encourage your sweetheart enough. This will encourage them to dare more and it will get better. Great for you and great for them!
Create a safe environment
Now that your little one is gradually moving around the room by himself, it is of utmost importance to have a child-friendly (living) space. After all, young babies can start pulling themselves up on furniture and have an increased risk of falling. The latter is natural, of course, but that does not mean it is pleasant. It is best for all parties to minimize this as much as possible. And when your little one does fall, make sure they don't land too hard. Consider a rug or blanket - or soft surface. Avoid hard and slippery floors, as this increases the chance of falling because your child has less grip on them. And make sure to place dangerous items out of the little one's reach.
Limit the area
When you want to prevent your baby from just going anywhere, but they are still too young for an enclosed playpen, it is helpful to close off areas or install a baby gate.
Use toys
By placing or holding a few toys here and there, you encourage your baby to walk to them. You can also choose to get a walker or car so that your baby can walk independently with their toys.
Stay close
It may be tempting to take a quick walk somewhere else, but when your child is just learning to walk, it is essential to stay with them. An accident is in a small corner, especially when you don't yet know exactly how your own little legs and feet work.
Buy a playpen
It's not time yet, but when your little one passes 24 months they will be able to walk a lot farther than during the first tender months of learning to walk. Especially then it can be a surprise where they have gone. If you are still a little hesitant about this, you can buy a playpen. In a playpen, or playpen, children as young as 2 years old can play nicely, even with a friend present. This playpen can easily be taken anywhere, opening up a world of possibilities. Whether you are going to the beach, camping or on a weekend trip with friends or family, the mobile playpen can be taken with you. As a result, you are no longer limited to your own living space with the little one.
There are no less than three different children's playpens for sale at DERYAN !

They will fall down regularly, but will also get back up of their own volition. After all, young children are curious by nature, and many doors will open for them with this new skill.
