Getting through December without the required amount of Christmas movies is almost impossible. To get through the dark month of December, we have listed the best Christmas movies. The films are for young, old, couples and for the whole family. The films can almost all be viewed via Netflix.

If there's one movie that fits the holidays, it's Home Alone. This week the film is thirty years old, and it is still widely watched during the holidays. The American film is about a large family who go on vacation to France, but accidentally forget one of the children at home. Eight-year-old Kevin is having the time of his life now that he is finally home alone. Unfortunately, relaxing quietly at home is not an option, as he has his hands full chasing away two burglars.

Another true Christmas classic that everyone should see at least once is 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' from 2000. The film is almost twenty-two years old, but still a true classic. With Jim Carrey in the lead role as The Grinch, he tries to ruin Christmas for the village of WhoVille. The film is highly recommended for the whole family.

For the couples, we've also picked out a fun movie, namely; The Holiday. This Hollywood film is from 2006 and stars famous actors such as Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, and Jack Black. The film is about two women who both turn their lives upside down through a website by participating in a house swap. Both women eventually begin to realize how happy they should be with what they have, and of course, they both find someone they fall in love with. A fun movie for the couples among our readers!

From the book 'A Christmas Carol', which was released in 1843, countless films have been released, including the 3D animated film from 2009. A Christmas Carol is about an old and bitter man, Ebenezer Scrooge, who hates Christmas. His life revolves around getting money, and nothing else. However, his outlook on life changes when three ghosts visit him on Christmas Eve. All three ghosts give the old grumpy man an important message. The first ghost shows him his most painful events from the past, the second ghost teaches him to reflect on his statements, and the last ghost shows him how people think about him when he is no longer there. This frightening night ensures that the man changes his life, and he becomes the gentle man he once was again.
