Getting through December without the necessary amount of Christmas movies is virtually impossible. To get through the dark December month, we have listed the most enjoyable Christmas movies. The movies are for young, old, couples and for the whole family. Almost all of the movies can be watched on Netflix.

If there is one movie that fits the holidays, it is Home Alone. This week marks the 30th anniversary of the film, and it is still widely watched during the holidays. The American film is about a large family who go on vacation to France, but accidentally forget one of the children at home. Eight-year-old Kevin is having the time of his life now that he is finally home alone. Unfortunately, relaxing at home is out of the question when he gets his hands full chasing down two burglars.

Another true Christmas classic that really everyone should have seen at least once is "How the Gringe Stole Christmas" from 2000. The movie is almost twenty-two years old, but still a true classic. Starring Jim Carrey as The Grinch, he tries to ruin Christmas for the village of WhoVille. The movie is highly recommended for the whole family.

For the couples, we also picked a fun movie, namely; The Holiday. This Hollywood movie is from 2006 and stars famous movie stars like Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet and Jack Zwart. The movie is about two women who both turn their lives around through a website by joining a home exchange. Both women eventually begin to realize how happy they should be with what they have, and of course they both find someone they fall in love with. A fun movie for the couples among our readers!

Numerous films have been released of the book "A Christmas Carol," which came out in 1843, including the 2009 3D animated film. A Christmas Carol is about an old and embittered man, Ebenezer Scrooge, who hates Christmas. His life revolves around getting money, and nothing else. However, his outlook on life changes when three ghosts visit him on Christmas Eve. All three spirits give the grumpy old man an important message. For example, the first spirit revisits his most painful past events, the second spirit teaches him to reflect on his statements and the last spirit shows him what people think about him when he is no longer around. This terrifying night causes the man's life to change, and he once again becomes the gentle man he once was.
